Questions families ask.

Who does ZOPA serve?

ZOPA serves older persons across Zimbabwe, with active operations based in Chitungwiza and outreach into surrounding communities. Our programs are open to any older person in need of support, care, skills or advocacy.

How do I become a member?

Membership is open to older persons in Zimbabwe. Contact the office using the details on our Contact page, or send a message through the website and a team member will be in touch.

Are ZOPA programs free?

Yes. All core ZOPA programs — psychosocial support, health and wellness, income-generating skills, caregiver training, dementia care and advocacy — are free to older persons. They are funded through partnerships, donations and community support.

Can I volunteer if I am not a nurse?

Yes. ZOPA provides free nurse aide training for volunteers. You do not need a medical background to join — what matters is a commitment to supporting older persons with dignity and respect.

Do you offer support in languages other than English?

Yes. Our team works in Shona, Ndebele and English, and community engagement is delivered in the language most comfortable for the person being supported.

How can organisations partner with ZOPA?

We partner with NGOs, government agencies, corporates and community organisations on program funding, joint outreach, training and advocacy. Get in touch through the contact page with a short description of what you have in mind.

Every older person deserves to be seen, supported and heard — in their own community, on their own terms.
